Gandhi’s vision of humanity and the importance of truth.

It is already well documented that Mahatma K. Gandhi (1869–1948) dedicated his life to finding a road of possible liberation from an epidemic of violence. The central issue and the novelty of this book focuses on what Gandhi wanted to liberate us for, and how viable is his positive vision of humanity. This book explores how Gandhi’s legacy has been distorted not only in India, but in the West as well. Predrag Cicovacki argues that we need to de-mythologize Gandhi and take a closer look at his thoughts, aims, and struggles; let us look at the footprints Gandhi left and follow them as carefully as possible.

Predrag Cicovacki is a professor of philosophy at the College of Holy Cross, Worcester, MA. He was a Senior Fulbright-Nehru Fellow in India (2012–2013) and is author and editor of thirteen books, including Dostoevsky and the Affirmation of Life.
